Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart has been backed to silence his doubters for both club and country.
The 26-year-old began this season with the unfamiliar sound of criticism ringing in his ears, as his error gifted Scotland the lead in England's 3-2 friendly win at Wembley last month.
Hart had the heat turned up a further notch when his dodgy handling contributed to City being felled by newly-promoted Cardiff. But he now has the perfect opportunity to once again underline his credentials as the country's best goalkeeper.
Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson had no hesitation in backing Hart ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifier against Moldova at Wembley. But the calls for Hart to be taken out of the firing line, ahead of next week's Group H rubber in Ukraine, will only intensify, should he fall short again.
However, the former Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Corrigan believes Hodgson already has the right man between the posts.
He insists: "Joe has set the bar very high and it takes an enormous effort to maintain those standards. He is good enough to do that and Joe has the confidence to bounce back."
