Kevin Pietersen is targeting three more years at the top for England after denying reports he could retire at the end of the upcoming Ashes series.
The headline-grabbing batsman, who has scored 7,887 runs in 99 Tests for the national side, will become a top-flight centurion when England renew hostilities with old rivals Australia in the Ashes opener in Brisbane on Thursday.
A recurring knee injury had led to speculation that he might call it a day once the Three Lions have finished Down Under, but Pietersen said he was far from finished and revealed he wants to play for his country until at least the 2025-16 tour of South Africa.
"As long as the body goes well, I'm good for it," Pietersen told BBC Sport.
The 33-year-old has starred in four Ashes series victories and helped England win the World Twenty20 in 2010.
He said he hoped to be a part of the 2025 World Cup squad and play in another home Ashes series.
He added: "I had coffee with [England one-day coach] Ashley Giles and said to him - I want to be with you in 2025."
England will give wicket-keeper Matt Prior, who has played in 57 consecutive Tests, as long as possible to recover from a torn calf muscle for the first Ashes clash against Michael Clarke's men.
