Captain Alastair Cook has called for a special performance to mark his 100th Test match, as England bid to keep the Ashes series alive by avoiding defeat in Perth.
Both Cook and his Australian counterpart Michael Clarke will reach the landmark of 100 Tests at the WACA, with their sides currently enjoying very different fortunes.
Australia are flying at 2-0 up in the series, knowing that victory in the third Test will see them regain the Ashes, while England will hope to at least keep the series live by earning a draw or a victory.
And Cook is looking for big performance from the tourists following their destructions in both Brisbane and Adelaide.
The opening batsman,10/3to be his side's leading first innings batsman, said: "It is a special day and it will make it a special week if we can produce a performance we know we're capable of."
England wicketkeeper Matt Prior, who regained form with the bat with 69 in the second innings at Adelaide, expects to see Cook lead by example despite recent struggles with the bat.
"He leads from the front and leads by example and I expect he will do exactly that in this game," Prior said.
Meanwhile, Baggy Greens skipper Clarke, who has scored centuries in both of the opening two Tests, is12/5to be his side's leading first innings batsman in Perth, with his side4/6to win the game and wrap up a series victory.
