Andre Villas-Boas has left Spurs by mutual consent following Sunday's 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool.
Spurs were well beaten by Liverpool on Sunday and the club's fans made their feelings known at the final whistle as boos and jeers rang out around White Hart Lane.
The London outfit have targeted a top four finish this season and are currently seventh in the table but performance against their key rivals have been a cause for concern.
In January they were thrashed 6-0 by Manchester City and twice surrendered a lead to draw 2-2 with Manchester United at the start of January.
Sunday's heavy loss to Liverpool appears to have cost the former Chelsea boss his job as Spurs have now confirmed Villas-Boas has departed.
"The club can announce that agreement has been reached with head coach, Andre Villas-Boas, for the termination of his services," said a Spurs statement.
"The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties."
The market for the next permanent Spurs manager is on bet365 now and former England boss Fabio Capello is priced at7/4, while Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is4/1.
Spurs are priced at7/2to secure a top four finish and1/2to bounce back from their defeat to Liverpool by seeing off West Ham in their Capital One Cup quarter-final on Wednesday.
