Alvaro Negredo is set to miss Manchester City's crucial trip to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The Spanish striker still has his arm in a sling after falling heavily on his shoulder in last week's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg victory at West Ham United.
Scans have shown Negredo only suffered heavy bruising but the doctors have ordered him to rest to avoid risking any further damage.
Negredo's absence would be a huge miss at White Hart Lane, with the forward having banged in 23 goals so far in his debut season.
