Left-back Leighton Baines, having committed his future to the club, says that there is a real buzz at Everton ahead of an Anfield Merseyside derby with Liverpool.
England defender Baines had been linked with a move away from the Toffees in recent times, but has now ended such speculation bypenning a new four-year dealat Goodison Park.
And Baines is excited about the situation at the Blues, telling the club's official website: "There is a really confident buzz about the place just now and that's being reflected in our performances.
"We're well-placed in the Premier League, we're in the fifth round of the FA Cup and, although we've got a few injuries, we feel as though we are ready for every challenge.
"The ambition is to bring some success to the club."
Everton make the short trip across Stanley Park in sixth place in the Premier League table, two places but just one point behind their city rivals.
And there is also little to choose between the two sides in recent meetings, with their last three clashes ending in draws andthe Goodison showdown earlier this season ending in a 3-3 thriller.
