Yaya Toure will take his place in the Manchester City midfield for Monday evening's huge Premier League clash against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
The Ivory Coast international passed a fitness assessment on a calf strain at the club's Carrington training ground on Sunday morning.
Toure had been carrying the injury he picked up during last week's 5-1 demolition on Tottenham Hotspur and there were real fears in the Blues' camp that he would need more time to recover.
However, he safely came through a 60-minute session without any issues and is now set for a key role against Chelsea.
It was Toure who scored the opening goal in a 2-0 victory over Chelsea in the corresponding fixture last season and his inclusion will bolster City's bid to try and open up a six-point gap over Jose Mourinho's team at the top of the Premier League.
Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini is also set to partner Alvaro Negredo and Edin Dzeko up front, with Stevan Jovetic dropping down to the bench.
Midfielder James Milner is also set to be available again after sitting out the last two games with a groin problem.
