Midfielder Aaron Ramsey could finally make his return to the Arsenal fold against Everton on Sunday, having been out of action since Boxing Day.
The 23-year-old Wales international started the campaign in superlative style for the Gunners, scoring 13 goals in all competitions in the first half of the season before being struck down by a thighinjury.
However, Ramsey is in contention to feature at Goodison Park on Sunday, with manager Arsene Wenger telling reporters: "He has worked very hard for a while in training now. What he lacks is competition.
"He's an all-round midfielder who can score goals and always drives the team forward. He's a real box-to-box player, so it's good to have him back.
"It's an area where we are short because we have many midfielders out."
Arsenal need to at least avoid defeat on Merseyside to maintain their drive for a top-four finish, with the Toffees four points behind the fourth-placed Gunners with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Everton boss Roberto Martinez has admitted that defender Phil Jagielka is not yet ready to return to action, as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
The Spaniard said: "I don't think he will be available for the weekend. We need to play it safe with Phil. He has played a lot of football, so we need to be careful with him."
