Manchester City ace Pablo Zabaleta says his club need to focus on improving in the Champions League after regaining their Premier League crown.
Zabaleta was a key member of the Citizens squad who edged out Liverpool in the English top-flight, with the Argentinian defender aware that the next step needed is making a major impact in Europe.
City progressed past the group stage of the Champions League for the first time this season, but were beaten in the round of 16 by Barcelona, losing out 4-1 on aggregate to the Spanish giants.
And Zabaleta insists that the Citizens must do better if they are to be taken seriously across the continent, telling the club's official website: "The Champions League is a competition where you play against the best teams in Europe, and on those days you have to perform well in big games.
"The Premier League is different, it's week in, week out. You have 38 games and if you drop points, you have the chance to win the next game.
"The Champions League is a competition where if you make one mistake, you are out.
"We know how difficult it is to reach the final of the Champions League and win it. I think these players are thinking about it. It's a competition we are very excited about trying to win."
