Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is confident that his club can bring the very best out of new 16million signing, Italy striker Mario Balotelli.
The 24-year-old completed his move to Anfield shortly before Liverpool were beaten 3-1 at Manchester City, with Balotelli having previously played in England for the Citizens, before returning home to join AC Milan.
And Rodgers is expecting big things from Balotelli, who will have the unenviable task of trying to help plug the gap left by the big-money exit of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
He told the club's official website: "This transfer represents outstanding value for the club and I think we have done a really smart piece of business here.
"There is no doubting Mario's ability. He is a world-class talent and someone who, for such a young age, has vast experience of playing at the very highest level.
"I believe we have the infrastructure, culture and environment to get the best out of him and help him achieve his true potential.
"We are a strong group here, committed to hard work and he will benefit from being around it."
Balotelli is in line to make his Reds debut at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, as the Reds seek to hit back quickly following their loss to the Citizens.
