Radamel Falcao has declared that he has signed for "one of the truly great teams" after agreeing to join Manchester United on a season-long loan.
The Colombia international moves to Old Trafford from Monaco after being linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal throughout the summer.
He said of his new club: "It's a dream come true to join a club like Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world.
"I've always dreamt about playing for one of the truly great teams and winning lots of trophies. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity and you can't turn that down. I'm a huge fan of English football and watch it whenever I can. Now the reality is I'm going to play there."
United have agreed to pay a 6million signing-on fee for the 28-year-old and are believed to have offered to pay the former Atletico Madrid striker 265,000 a week.
Louis van Gaal has opted to let Javier Hernandez join Real Madrid on loan while Danny Welbeck has joined Arsenal for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of 17million.
However, Tom Cleverley has rejected the chance to join Aston Villa, while a loan move to Everton fell through, and Anderson remains on the club's books afterUnited failed to sell him on Monday.
United have also signed Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind, Ander Herrera and Marcos Rojo since the end of last season while the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra have left the club.
