Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has been backed to set the Champions League alight this season, starting against Ludogorets Razgrad on Tuesday evening.
England international Sterling was left on the bench against Aston Villa at the weekend, but is almost certain to start against the Bulgarian champions at Anfield in midweek.
And his Reds team-mate Philippe Coutinho expects Sterling to shine on the biggest stage in club football.
He said: "Raheem Sterling will be one of the stars of Europe. He is having a very good time and is in very good shape. I believe he will do quite well in the Champions League.
"We are training together every day and I know his potential. I am confident this will be a very good season for Raheem for both Liverpool and England."
Meanwhile, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers faces a potential headache in attack, with Daniel Sturridge a definite absentee and Mario Balotelli being troubled by a knock picked up in the 1-0 loss to Villa.
If the Italy international is ruled out, then Rodgers will be forced to field summer recruit Rickie Lambert in attack, with Fabio Borini his only other fully fit striker.
Razgrad will be making their Champions League group stage debut at Anfield, having won their play-off tie against Steaua Bucharest courtesy of a dramatic penalty shootout.
