Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says Luke Shaw will only be missing for a "few weeks" with an ankle injury.
The England international has ankle ligament damage but Van Gaal insists the injury is not too serious.
He told reporters on Friday: "There are no serious complications.
"He has sustained an ankle ligament injury. He will be out for the next few weeks because of this."
Shaw's injury could be offset by the return of Marcos Rojo, who has spent the last four weeks on the sidelines with a shoulder problm.
The Argentina international was initially ruled out for six weeks but the 24-year-old has recovered ahead of schedule.
It was confirmed earlier this week that Rojo had returned to training and Van Gaal has suggested he could be involved in some capacity against Hull at Old Trafford on Saturday, rejecting speculation this weekend's league tie would come too soon for the defender.
Van Gaal also revealed Radamel Falcao could be in contention to face Hull after recovering from a calf injury, although the Colombian star may have to settle for a place on the bench as he has not played since January.
Jonny Evans played for the reserves this week but he isn't expected to feature against Hull, with Phil Jones, Rafael and Daley Blind also unavailable.
