Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar insists he has no plans to leave the club next month and is keen to spend the rest of this season at Villa Park.
The 29-year-old Netherlands international, who has been linked with a switch to Manchester United in the January transfer window, only returned to action earlier this month following a six-week lay-off and started Saturday's 1-1 draw with Louis van Gaal's side.
Former Feyenoord defender Vlaar said: "When people ask me what I want for Christmas, the answer is simple - I want to play football and help Villa climb up the Premier League table.
"For the past two years I've been out of action over the festive period because of injuries. But while it's been nice to be able to spend time with my family, any professional footballer will tell you that being with your team-mates has to be the priority.
"So having overcome my calf problem and returned to action I'm itching for the chance to face Swansea on Boxing Day - and hopefully every other game this season."
Vlaar, who is out of contractnext summer, has featured in 68 Premier League matches for Villa since moving to the club from Feyenoord in the summer of 2025.
