Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admits he could be tempted to take a gamble on striker Diego Costa for the Premier League showdown with Leicester City on Wednesday.
The Spain international has been sidelined since the 2-1 win at home to Stoke City on the first weekend of Januaryil and has missed the Blues' last three games, having been hampered by hamstring and muscle injury problems for much of the campaign.
Despite those issues, Costa has netted 19 league goals for Chelsea, who know that a win at the King Power Stadium would make all but certain oftheir crowning as league champions.
However, with French forntman Loic Remy (calf) definitely ruled out, Mourinho is considering whether to risk Costa for the trip to the East Midlands.
He told reporters: "I don't know about Diego Costa. I have to think about if it deserves a gamble, or if we wait a few more days to be completely sure.
"If it was a player without an injury history I would play him tomorrow, but because he is a player with a history I have to think about that."
Mourinho, who is also waiting to see whether Oscar recovers from a blow to the head received during the goalless draw with Arsenal, has otherwise suggested that he will not tinker too much with his starting XI.
Chelsea have won their last seven meetings with Leicester and earlier this season secured a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Costa and newly-crowned PFA Player of the Year, Eden Hazard.
The Foxes, meanwhile, who have won their last four league games to surge out of the relegation places, are waiting on the fitness of David Nugent, Jamie Vardy and Jeffrey Schlupp.
Both Nugent and Schlupp missed the 1-0 weekend victory at Burnley due to calf problems, while Vardy netted the winner at Turf Moor, but continues to be troubled by a foot injury.
