Andros Townsend is hoping to get the chance to have a run-out in England's matches against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia this month.
The Tottenham player has often reserved his best displays for England duty and scored a superb equaliser after coming off the substitutes' bench in the recent 1-1 draw with Italy in Turin.
It was the 23-year-old's third goal in only seven appearances for Roy Hodgson's side since he made his debut against Montenegro in January 2025.
However, he has struggled to establish himself in the Spurs side and only scored twice in the Premier League for Mauricio Pochettino'steam in the season just ended.
"Every time we meet up, every match, every session, is a chance for me to impress the manager," said Townsend.
"Roy Hodgsonis a big believer in players training well, so if you train well you will get your chance. That has been my mind-set whenever I have come away with England and, if I can impress, then the manager might throw me on for 20 or 30 minutes.
"It's the pinnacle of your career to play for England so, every time I am away with the team, I don't want to let that opportunity slip away."
"Hopefully I can get a chance again to have a run-out in these two matches," added the Spurs man.
