Coach Jorge Sampaoli says his Chile side have fulfilled their obligations by reaching the final of the Copa America for the first time since 1987.
Two goals from Eduardo Vargas secured a 2-1 victory over Peru to take the hosts through to the showpiece final, where they will face either Argentina or Paraguay.
And Sampaoli, whose side are now2.00to lift the trophy, is delighted to see his players continue to deliver under the additional pressure of being the tournament hosts.
He told reporters after Peru were beaten in Santiago: "It was our obligation to get Chile to the final, we knew it from the first moment. It's an incredible dream and even more so as hosts."
Meanwhile, Chile defender Maurico Isla admitted that his side had not been at their best against a Peru side who were reduced to ten men after just 20 minutes when Carlos Zambrano was shown a straight red card.
He added: "We said it in the changing room afterwards. It wasn't the best match we've ever played. Peru made things really difficult for us, even with one man fewer.
"I think the pressure got to us. We were a little bit tired and Peru made things quite difficult.
"Everyone wants a final against Argentina, but look out for Paraguay, they are a very strong team."
Argentina and Paraguay meet in the second semi-final in Concepcion, with the two sides having shared the spoils from a 2-2 draw in the group stage of the competition.
