Andy Murray insists he has always enjoyed playing Davis Cup tennis as he prepares for Great Britain's clash against Luxembourg in Glasgow.
The world number four takes on unranked Laurent Bram at the Braehead Arena after Britain's number two James Ward comes up against Gilles Muller in the opening rubber.
Murray is1.02 towin the first set againstBram while Ward can be backed at2.62 to beat Muller.
After the singles, Murray and his brother Jamie will compete in their first Davis Cup doubles match together when they play Bram and Mike Vermeer on Saturday.
On Sunday afternoon, Murray will play Muller, who is ranked 81 in the world, before Ward and Bram complete the Europe/Africa Group II encounter.
If Britain are victorious they will meet Belarus or Hungary in a promotion play-off in January.
Murray said: "I've had a great last few days, practised well. I've always enjoyed playing Davis Cup. It's just different, it's a different atmosphere, a different experience and just a different build-up.
"Whether it's the best thing for me or not (after Wimbledon), I have no idea, but I've had a good week so far."
Murray pulled out of the Davis Cup defeat to Lithuania 16 months ago, saying that he needed to prepare properly for the 2010 season and his quest to win a Grand Slam.
Daniel Evans comes into the squad as the back-up player in place of doubles expert Colin Fleming, who has a foot injury.
Spain can be backed at3.00 to beat the USA in their quarter-final clash while Sweden are34.00 to beat last year's winners, Serbia.
