Former England striker Michael Owen has warned Leeds United that his season starts in the Carling Cup third round tie at Elland Road.
The Manchester United striker has cut a frustrated figure on the Old Trafford sidelines as Sir Alex Ferguson's team have swept all before them.
But the Red Devils boss will make a substantial number of changes for the face-off against old rivals Leeds, with Owen set to start alongside Dimitar Berbatov, another United striker who has been forced to bide his time and wait for an opportunity to remind Ferguson of his own scoring prowess.
It promises to be a white-hot atmosphere, reminiscent of the days when the two clubs regularly traded blow-for-blow in the top-flight during the 1990s.
And Owen says he is looking forward to training his own sights on the Leeds goal. He admits: "This is what a lot of the players have been waiting for in many ways.
"The manager has picked the same team in the first four matches, so there are a lot of people needing games. We all know it is a big game against Leeds. There is a rivalry and the fans are keen for us to do well.
"I came off the bench in the FA Cup tie at Old Trafford in 2010 when Leeds won 1-0 to try and nick an equaliser. It didn't work out, but hopefully it will be different this time."
Leeds are5.00 to cause a shock on their home ground, with Robert Snodgrass13.00 to open the scoring, while the visitors are1.57 to secure a seventh win in eight games in all competitions this season.
