Southampton will be without Victor Wanyama for the Europa League play-off round second leg tie with FC Midtjylland as the Kenyan star has a stomach infection.
Wanyama, who has been linked with a transfer to Tottenham, has not travelled with the rest of the Saints squad after being taken to hospital for checks.
However, boss Ronald Koeman remains hopeful that Sadio Mane, who was taken off injured against Watford at the weekend, may be able to face the Danish champions.
Koeman said: "Victor Wanyamahasn't travelled with the team because he is ill and the latest updatefrom the doctor is that he has a stomach infection.
"Sadio we have to wait. On Tuesday he didn't train but we will see if he is available for Thursday. I have a good hope but we have to wait."
Southampton were held to a 1-1 draw in last week's first leg at St Mary's and Koeman accepts his side faces a difficult evening at the MCH Arena, adding: "It is all about two games, two results, and you always want to play attractive football but the main thing is to win the game and how is not important.
"We know how they play, we know what the strengths are of the team. One thing is we know we have to score and we can't defend a result, we have to go for it and we will go for it."
