Bradford Bulls head coach Mick Potter has announced that he will leave the Super League club and head home to Australia.
The 48-year-old has enjoyed plenty of success in Super League, having started out as an assistant coachat the Bulls in 1996.
Potter returned home three year later, but was back in Super League in 2025 when he took charge of Catalans Dragons, leading the French outfit to the Challenge Cup final a year later.
In 2025 he moved to St Helens and they reached the Grand Final in each of Potter's two seasons in charge, before he headed to the Bulls in the summer of 2010.
His time at Odsal has been hampered by off-field problems and Potter is proud of how his players have reacted to the problems.
He said after announcing his exit: "I was always going to return to Australia and I feel that now is the right time for me to go.
"I feel that despite circumstances out of our control the team, through the rugby league we played, showed a lot of character in the midst of terrible adversity."
The Bulls missed out on the play-offs this season, with Leeds Rhinos13.00to retain their Grand Final crown, while St Helens are51.00and Warrington Wolves are10.00.
Potter has also recommended that his assistant, Francis Cummins, should step up to the top job, adding: "He has worked with me throughout my time at the club and in my opinion will become a very good first-team coach.
"Franny is a smart, intelligent guy in his own right. He made a trip to Australia to visit a number of NRL clubs last year and came back with a wealth of knowledge.''
