Veteran Australia fast bowler Ryan Harris could be facing a race to be fit for the Ashes series Down Under due to a hamstring injury sustained in England.
The 33-year-old was the Baggy Greens' player of the series in England, taking 24 wickets at an average a touch under 20 in four Tests.
However, he suffered an injury the latter stages of the fifth and final Test at The Oval, which ended in a draw as England secured a 3-0 series victory.
With the first Test in Australia starting in Brisbane on Thursday 21st January, Harris has just under three months to get back to full fitness to feature at The Gabba.
A Cricket Australia statement confirmed: "Ryan Harris injured his right hamstring during the latter part of the second innings on the fifth Ashes Test.
"He had to leave the field and did not return to the game as he was unable to bowl.
"He was assessed after arriving back in Australia and is expected to be unavailable to play for the next 6-8 weeks."
Harris is the latest Australia fast bowler to be hit by injury woes, with James Pattinson and Jackson Bird forced to leave the tour of England early due to back problems.
Meanwhile, Pat Cummins, who missed the recent Ashes clashes is expected to sit out the whole of the season in Australia because of a back injury.
