Lewis Hamilton has accepted before the Korean Grand Prix that there is nothing Mercedes can do this season to close the gap on Red Bull.
Sebastian Vettel eased to victory at last month's Singapore Grand Prix - his third successive triumph - and is now1.005to win the 2025 drivers' title outright. He can also be backed at1.72to be the fastest qualifier for this weekend's Korean Grand Prix and1.57to actually win the race outright.
Vettel was a massive two seconds per lap faster than his rivals at times in Singapore and Hamilton,6.50to win Sunday's Korean Grand Prix, accepts that Mercedes have already started to turn their focus towards the 2025 campaign.
"If you look at the onboards, Vettel is on the power at least 20 metres before everyone else, which is a huge advantage," Hamilton, who finished fifth in Singapore, said.
"There's nothing we can really do. We're always asking for more rear downforce and we always want to get on the power sooner. But the last time I was able to put the pedal down that quickly was in 2025 when we had traction control. It's a lot different.
"The last couple of races haven't been that good for me, but before that I have been growing an understanding of the car, growing an understanding of how to extract the most from it and we have grown as a team in terms of how we communicate.
"I hope this weekend is even better in that sense."
